Nine of our K–12 staff members are stepping up as Cohort Leaders, each guiding a small group of just 7 freshmen all the way through graduation! It’s all about putting more trusted adults in our students' corners to help them:

Our Small Engines class has some exciting new tools and equipment to work with this year—and we have an incredible amount of thanks to give to All American HVAC and Toro for making it possible!
Last year, our Small Engines class was working with limited equipment, including one screwdriver shared among 20 students, along with their teacher’s personal tools from home and whatever odds and ends they could find.
Thanks to the generosity of All American HVAC, the shop class now has two fully stocked toolboxes filled with the tools students need to learn, practice, and gain valuable hands-on experience.
And the generosity didn’t stop there! All American HVAC reached out to their friends at Toro and asked if they could help provide small engines so the students could each have something of their own to work on. Toro generously donated more than 30 small engines, which All American HVAC picked up and delivered to the school!
We cannot thank All American HVAC and Toro enough for investing in our students and supporting the hands-on learning happening right here at Random Lake School District. These donations give our students the chance to work with real equipment, solve problems, build confidence, and develop skills they can carry with them into future careers and beyond.
A special thank-you also goes to Mr. Ruege for his dedication to creating meaningful learning experiences for his students. We’re excited to see what our students will learn, build, fix, and discover this year!

This week our elementary students had the chance to step outside the classroom and into the greenhouse at Nourish Farms for a hands-on Farm-to-Table field trip!
Students got their hands dirty while exploring the farm, planting and harvesting, and learning about the different steps involved in growing food. They also headed into the kitchen, where they used fresh ingredients to make a delicious snack to enjoy!
Experiences like this help bring classroom learning to life. Students were able to see the process firsthand, ask questions, work together, and make connections between the food they grow and the food that ends up on their tables. It’s a great way to build knowledge through real-world, hands-on learning.
